Jesus didn’t die to forgive me of my sin but leave me in it. He died to forgive and to free me from the power of sin.

About This Quote

It is true that Jesus died to forgive sins. However, it is also true that He died to free us from the power of sin. He did this by conquering it and setting us free from the bondage of sin. When we are freed from sin, we can begin to live a life that is not controlled by sin.

But, how do we understand our sin? How do we understand why God would have to die to free us from it? Sin has become much more than a matter of bad behavior, as many people think about it these days. In fact, sin has become a way of life. In order for us to be set free from the power of sin, we have to understand the nature of sin.

Jesus said that He came to help those who are trapped in the power of sin and want their lives changed. If we stop doing something wrong or start doing something right, we will begin to see a change in our lives and a change in our daily lives. And, because God set us free from sin, we will be able to live a life where what we do does not lead us to do wrong or hurt others around us because that would demonstrate that God has not been working in our lives.
